Android samsung images not downloading

Started around Oct. I was on the Sept. I'm wondering if it was a Carrier Settings Update. I can't remember if I've had one or not in the past few months. I haven't call for tech help yet. Just haven't had enough time to wait on the phone.

There's enough posts in so many forums that something needs to be fixed! Such a PIA! When I turn wifi off, my phone will display the 4G LTE icon but once I turn wifi back on, it only stays on for a minute or so. I've even forced data on in developer settings but that wasn't a permanent fix either.

Keeping Mobile data on thru Developer Settings gets my pictures but uses more battery. Galaxy S9. Same deal here. Disable wifi, mms messages come in.

To fix this issue, it is necessary to clear the cache and data for the messaging app. Firstly, you can boot your phone to safe mode to eliminate the reason.

In this mode, all the third-party apps are disabled. Just test the ability of MMS. If messages can be downloaded, a third-party app is a culprit. Usually, some cleaner apps or antivirus programs interfere with the normal working of your phone. The best way is to uninstall them. If all of these methods fail to work, the only solution is to perform a factory reset. This can delete all your files, apps, and data.

Before you do, you should create a backup for your device. If your phone allows you to remove the battery than, with the phone powered on, remove the battery from the unit.

Count to 10 just like before, and then reinsert the battery into the phone, and power it back on. Make sure that the phone is not plugged into a charger when removing the battery or the phone will still have access to a power source and this reset might not work. Sometimes when Android smartphones have too many messages saved on them they can get a little clogged up and have problems sending and receiving both regular text messages and multimedia messages. If your messages have started to pile up on the device then go through the saved message threads and do some cleaning.

Data and Information can add up over time so try and stay on top of your saved messages. Sometimes Android phones have problems and need to be wiped clean. Android makes it very easy and is very user friendly when backing up your information before doing the restore. I recommend a periodic backup of your phone anyways. This should fix the phone right up and allow you to download and send picture messages again.

You might even notice an increase in speed and functionality after performing a reset.
